To protect competitive fairness, maintain long-term faction rivalries, and prevent economic exploitation, NCSoft enforces strict realm character restrictions across all AION 2 launch servers. While these policies safeguard the integrity of open-world warfare, overlooking them can accidentally split guild alliances or lock players into unintended servers. Reviewing the official restrictions framework ensures your gaming group establishes their roster without unexpected complications.

The bedrock policy of AION 2 is the Single-Faction Per Server Rule. The moment you finalize character creation and generate a character belonging to one faction on a server, your entire account is permanently bound to that faction on that specific realm. All remaining character slots on that server are automatically restricted to the same faction banner. This prevents faction espionage, intentional fortress griefing, and cross-faction collusion during scheduled Abyss sieges.

If you wish to experience both the radiant halls of Sanctum and the shadow-forged halls of Pandaemonium on a single service account, you must do so by playing across different servers. For example, you may maintain an Elyos character roster on server Kaisinel while concurrently developing an Asmodian legion roster on server Siel. Many versatile players adopt this multi-server strategy to master both racial perspectives without violating realm integrity rules.

To prevent wealthy alliances from artificially flooding servers and destabilizing fledgling realm economies, NCSoft has enacted a strict 90-day character transfer embargo. Server transfers will remain completely disabled throughout the initial three months of the global launch. The server you choose during launch week is where your Daeva will remain anchored until the transfer service formally opens, making initial server selection a permanent commitment for the launch season.

For players considering deleting a character to change their appearance, class, or name, be aware of the security hold policy. When you delete a character level 10 or higher, the client initiates a 24-hour pending deletion countdown during which the character can be restored. Furthermore, once deletion concludes, the character name remains locked for an additional 24 hours before returning to the public reservation pool, preventing accidental name loss during character recreation.

NCSoft has also published explicit server health and merger protocols. In the event that player demographic shifts cause a specific secondary server to fall below long-term activity thresholds months down the road, designated server pairings will undergo orderly consolidation. Players will receive multi-week advance notifications detailing guild name priority rules, warehouse asset preservation, and character slot transfer guarantees.

Before creating your character on day one, convene with your gaming community to confirm server and faction alignment across Discord and communication channels. Double-checking that everyone agrees on the exact cluster name, server node, and faction allegiance guarantees that your entire team embarks on the journey across Atreia united under one banner.
